Oh mama has there ever been a time where you felt guilty for not being the mom you thought you would be all the time. Whether it was you were sick, you were stressed, your lost your temper, or you weren’t there, or things didn’t turn out the way you planned. You feel like you left your kids down, your partner down, you felt stretched too thin. The feelings sit in and the thoughts start coming.

I’m not good enough.
.
I’m failing them.
.
I’m bad at this.
.
I’m not enough.
.
They need more. .
Sound familiar? As a therapist I’ve heard so many moms put themselves down. Set unrealistic goals on themselves. And punish themselves for things that so many other  mamas can relate to through experience.

So here are my top 5 tips for fighting mom guilt! 1. Don’t compare yourself to other mamas your unique for a reason! 2. Enjoy your downtime your body needs it with such busy lives we run. If we take care of ourselves we can take care of them. 3. Re-evaluate your expectations mama try to be easier on yourself for what your going through right now. 4. Engage in self care my dear do something for you everyday. 5. Forgive yourself my dear your human ❤️ Reese got buried in 15lbs of potatoes 🥔 for thanksgiving tomorrow. “I squished” 15x later and I got her unburied🤣❤️😘 Well if this doesn’t touch you to your core as a parent. I saw this and said my goodness this stops you in your tracks🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I will use this often as I can think of many times I’ve made mistakes, lost my sh**, or been inconsistent with little 👀 watching. This is just as important as “they are only little once or for so long” statements that can bring me to my knees emotionally and make the tears flow. Let’s raise beautiful human beings 🙌🏻❤️
